I am very excited about the future of New Penny Theatre group. We have a great team in place and I feel honoured to be a founder member. I have put my name to this exciting and innovative new theatre company as I believe it will give talented performers a fantastic platform to show their potential on a great stage such as the Wycombe Swan. My prime role in the group is to raise sponsorship, patronage and advertising revenue to ensure the short and long term success of the group. I, myself have performed with a variety of groups performing a Hugh diversity of shows such as Me and My Girl, Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls, Hot Mikado, All Night Strut, South Pacific, Crazy for You to name a few along with just about every pantomime written together with some straight and comedy plays. I trust I can bring some on stage and back stage experience to the group and with an undying enthusiasm and will to succeed know that if you successfully audition for our first show, Sweet Charity, that you will enjoy the experience too.

At the ripe age of 21, I became the youngest chairman of Ruislip Dramatic Society, a position I held for ten years and two years as Vice Chairman of Ruislip Operatic Society soon followed. With six colleagues I created Phoenix Productions that still regularly perform in the Compass Theatre in Ickenham. I have been involved in drama since the age of 13, starting with lighting and lighting design to set design, performing and finally directing. I have directed over 40 productions being mostly plays, including seven major musicals. I am extremely pleased to be involved in New Penny Theatre Company and am committed to making it a real success. My role is to be principle liaison with all the theatres in which New Penny wish to perform, together with strict budget control on all productions.

I have been involved in non-professional theatre for over 25 years, treading the boards in mainly operatic productions. More recently, I have enjoyed working as production assistant supporting my husband Jeff on over 20 productions. My role will be both secretarial and business based specialising the co-ordination of group ticket sales. I am delighted to be a founder member of NPTC and look forward to producing high calibre entertainment offering local talented.

Most of my theatrical experience comes from being a member of Holmer Green Players in the village where I live. Over the years I have enjoyed taking part in plays, pantomime, revue and music hall. As well as treading the boards I have tried my hand at directing, producing and was also group secretary for many years. I was instrumental in setting up and running our youth section that continues to flourish and provide fresh talent to our senior section. My favourite roles to date have been Vera in “Stepping Out”, Judith Bliss in “Hay Fever” and most recently the Wicked Witch in “Sleeping Beauty”. I have also enjoyed taking part in productions of “Sound of Music” and “Me and My Girl” at The Swan theatre in High Wycombe where I met my fellow New Penny colleagues. The people that have come together to create New Penny believe that everyone has something to offer and I am confident that we can encourage new talent to join with us and help create a successful company that everyone will be proud to be part of. I love the theatre and to be able to help create a new company is an exciting challenge that I am really looking forward to.

NPTC is "The Company" that is raising the standard of theatre in Buckinghamshire and environs. We may be non-professional, however our results are and it is due to having quickly established an audience base, which trusts our ability to deliver, that we have enjoyed many full houses at our recent shows. Our talented casts are drawn from the cream of the district – we have no membership responsibilities to hold us back – so each show is cast with the best talent available. As a team, we have strong experience in this field of entertainment and my part in its management is to support the need for strategic and financial direction. My financial skills refined whilst working in corporate travel, ensure we keep a tight control on expenditure whilst not impacting on artistic presentation. Having been a Director, Choreographer and Performer involved in Musicals, Plays and Pantomimes for nearly 30 years, I am also able to assist the artistic needs of the Company. Having trained with the Sydney Theatre Company, notched up several ballet and tap awards and previously been involved with the Kodak Theatre Group, Harrow and Ruislip Operatic Society in both artistic and organisational roles, it is great to be able to contribute what I have to offer. So with a strong business base established, and years of theatrical knowledge between us, we are making a tremendous impact and invite you to enjoy the “NPTC experience” either on or off stage.

I designed the lighting for New Penny's first show Sweet Charity, and have worked on most of their shows since. Lighting design with my friend Ian Legate takes up a large chunk of our spare time and we have worked together since we were sixteen, with many musicals and plays under our belt. We enjoy being challenged as to what is possible on the stage and using new "toys" to achieve results. I am proud to be a board member and intend to contribute to their success in the future. My technical role is to ensure that our productions are presented as professionally as possible, and to always, push the boundaries of what amateur groups can achieve. I look forward to landing a helicopter on the stage of your local theatre in the not too distant future.
