Our Production of: Not Now Darling.
by Ray Cooney & John Chapman
|
Tuesday 7 October – Saturday 11 October, Elgiva Theatre, Chesham
For those of you that came to see Out of Order and Noises Off. The feedback from these shows has been fantastic, so we continue to bring you what we think is the best in comedy and present to you this October a Ray Cooney Classic Farce, NOT NOW DARLING.
In the elegant London salon of Bodley, Bodley & Crouch. Meet Gilbert Bodley, a philandering extrovert, and his innocent business partner, Arnold Crouch. Gilbert has set his sights on a beautiful stripper, Janie, and aims to seduce her with the help of an exclusive designer coat. There’s just one catch: Janie is married, and her husband, Harry, would be sure to notice such an acquisition. Undeterred, Bodley reduces the price of the coat, and Janie begs Harry to buy the coat for her. However, Harry realises a bargain when he sees it, and buys the coat, but for his own mistress. Complications ensue when Janie refuses to leave the salon without the coat, and strips. New Penny celebrates five uproarious years with this classic farce of mistaken identities, suspicious wives, scantily clad girls and a continuous barrage of hilarious permutations, which somehow manages to get sorted out satisfactorily for all concerned. Don’t miss this celebration of laughter!
We have a great cast and welcome Nicky Chryssaphes and Jane Foufas who join New Penny for the first time. Additionally Tony Sendall, Jeff Eales, Ella Louise Kay, Mark Bolkonsky, Debbie Taylor, Paul Woodstock, Michelle McMinn and Ginge Anderson have performed in previous New Penny productions such as California Suite, Seasons Greetings, The Odd Couple, Noises Off, Stepping Out and Out of Order. |
